ORA Easter Egg Chalice
Some of the most collectible LPS coral types belong to the group known as chalice corals.The ORA Easter Egg Chalice (Oxyporasp.) is an especially cherished strain amongst collectors.This is still a favorite chalice at ORA, who obtained the original mother colony from LiveAquaria.com display tank at their MACNA booth (Orlando 2010).Appropriately, it was released in conjunction with another MACNA event (Fort Lauderdale 2013).ORA apparently knew a classic when they saw one!This beauty is so-named for its bright, pastel, "Eastery" coloration.It features a pink-light purple tissue and yellow mouths.Its soft colors make a pleasing contrast to intensely fluorescent neighbors.It grows into thin, flowing sheets that encrust over the live rock surfaces.The ORA Easter Egg Chalice is not only quite easy to look at, but is also very hardy and fast-growing!Each frag is approximately 1.5 inches wide and is firmly secured to a cement aragonite disk.
