The maculosus angelfish (also known as the halfmoon angel) is a real stunner, both as a juvenile and as an adult.Juveniles have the characteristic dark body with blue-white striping of all young pomacanthid angels, though their markings are especially bold and psychedelic.The adults are quite different, but at least as splendid.The adult phase of this species very strongly resembles that of the closely related asfur angel!the maculosus is distinguished from its cousin by the softer yellow coloration of its tail and also the attractive, darker blue flecking over its body body (especially its face and shoulders).Like its more common cousin, it has a big, irregularly shaped, bright yellow patch over each flank.While it is quite omnivorous, freshmanbetx3.0最新macroalgaeis likely an important (though easily overlooked) component of its captive diet.
